Troubleshooting

Why can’t I gain weight?

When effort feels high but the trend stays flat, inspect consistency, appetite, activity and measurement before blaming your body.

Your average intake may be different from your best days

A large Saturday meal does not erase several low-intake weekdays. Record a normal week without judgement. Look for missed breakfasts, long work gaps, small evening meals or weekend pattern changes.

The useful question is not “Do I eat a lot sometimes?” but “What does my average week support?”

Activity changes the equation

Walking, manual work, sport, fidgeting and training all contribute to expenditure. Do not suppress healthy movement just to gain. Instead, recognize activity and fuel it consistently.

Calculator estimates are starting points because individual expenditure varies.

Measurement can hide the trend

Compare morning weigh-ins under similar conditions and use a weekly average. Sodium, carbohydrate, hydration and digestion can move the scale independently of tissue change.

Use at least two to three weeks before making a small adjustment.

Low appetite needs a practical response

Use smaller, denser meals, liquids between meals, and a reliable snack. Keep nutritious foods and fluids in the plan; change form and timing rather than treating fullness as a personal failure.

Know when to seek medical advice

Persistent unexplained weight loss, or weight change alongside other symptoms, warrants assessment by a qualified clinician. A website cannot identify the cause.
